Tiruvalidayam

Location:
This temple is located in Padi - very close to Anna Nagar west and can be easily accessed from the Padi Main Road.

Temple:
The temple is dedicated to Jagadambigai sametha Tiruvalleswarar. The garba griham of Lord Siva has the idol of Ambal on the right, behind the main murthy. The garba griham of Tiruvalleswarar is illuminated by lights in the form of a lingam.

The temple also houses the deities of Vinayagar, lingam worshipped by Hanuman, Vishnu facing the murthi of Murugar, Meenakshi Sundareswara, Natarajar, Bharadwaja Lingam, Vishnudurgai, Anjaneyar, Navagrihas and Bhairava.

Thirugnanasambandar has sung praises of Tiruvalleswarar and this is mentioned in the Sthalapurana of Tiruvalidayam.

An important feature of this temple is that there is a separate sannidhi for Guru in addition to the Dakhshinamurthi and  Guru in the Navagrihas. Hence this temple is supposed to be suitable for performing pariharams to Guru.

Devotees with abundant grace of Guru perform pariharams to the Dakshinamurthy. Devotees  with average grace of Guru perform pariharams to the Guru in separate sannidhi. Devotees with little or no grace of Guru perform pariharams to the Guru in the Navagrihas.

There is ample space in the temple for feeding the roosters, hens and pigeons that abound in this sthalam. There is also a GoSaalai within the temple.
