Vaidyanatha Swamy in the town Vaideeswaran Koil is famous for blessing devotees with good health. In fact, the temple is also considered to be a Navagriha Kshetra for “Sevvai” or “Mars”.
The Vaidyanatha Swamy temple in Poonamallee is dedicated to the same deity as in Vaideeswaran Koil and is pretty much a replica in terms of the deities. Vaidyanatha Swamy is in the form of a Linga. Thaiyalnayaki is the name of his consort. Other deities include Muthukumaraswamy, Vishnu Durgai, Natarajar and Navagrihas.
