Chithukaadu: Thathroshwarar & Sundararaja Perumal

Chithukaadu is a small village located off Poonamallee Byepass Road on the road leading to Pattabhiram.

Sundararaja Perumal Temple
Chithukaadu (previously known as SiddharKaadu) claims to have Siddhars still living in the area. There are two main temples in this town - One for Sivan (Prasoonakundalambikai sametha Thathroshwara) and another for Perumal (Sundaravalli Thayar sametha Sundararaja Perumal).

The Sivan temple has a Gooseberry tree (Nelli maram) which has quite a few parrots. Siddhars are believed to be living in the tree in the form of parrots.

The Perumal temple has special significance for people born in Swati Nakshatra and is even considered to be a temple to visit for people with Swati Nakshatra who face delays/ in marriage. The temple boasts of 16 Narasimha idols in the Perumal Sannidhi.  There is also an Andal Sannidhi in the temple. 

The Perumal temple has Garuda Siddhar in the temple pillar. People who have problems with eyes light agal vilakku in front of Garuda Siddhar for 16 weeks to overcome problems.
